China Securities Index Co., Ltd. (CSI), a leading provider of Chinese financial market indexes, is pleased to announce that it has become the first Asian administrator under the EU Benchmark Regulation (EU BMR).
The EU BMR has become effective since January 1, 2018 and regulates entities that are involved in the provision, contribution and use of benchmarks in the EU.
CSI has been recognized according to Art. 32 of the Benchmark Regulation with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). CSI is the benchmark administrator for Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) indexes and CSI indexes. The flagship CSI 300 Index has long been the most tracked China A-Share index by ETF assets in EU.
Suyuan Lu, General Manager of CSI, said: “Following our adoption of the IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks in 2018, the recognition under the EU BMR further reflects our commitment to the highest standards in benchmark administration. We will continue to make every effort to provide our clients with reliable indexes and services.”
