I think caucus-goers can make a good argument to voters for supporting John Edwards. We can remind Democrats that it will leave our options open.

It looks very likely that Clinton and Obama will split the delegates, leading to a brokered convention. Giving Edwards delegates will allow the option of another candidate if Clinton and Obama prove untenable in the coming months (something that very well could happen–especially when you consider the head-to-head polls).

I¡¯m voting for Edwards tomorrow in Colorado. A suspended campaign is NOT a withdrawal from the race. In my entire circle of friends, every person is an Edwards fan. We will continue to fight the good fight. I will not let the media dictate my choice.

You can still vote in Missouri for John Edwards or Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday.

For that matter, you can still vote for Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Dennis Kucinich or Bill Richardson — all of whom ended their campaigns after the Missouri ballot was printed.

Election officials say the votes — including absentee ballots already cast — will be counted. That means dropouts could earn convention delegates.

I think this still has relevance, especially for anyone considering voting for Edwards tomorrow (the question doesn¡¯t name names, but JRE is obviously the one I support):

For the past 8 years, Republicans have stood stubbornly and uncompromisingly behind President Bush¡¯s agendas, and it doesn¡¯t look like they will stray from that course anytime soon (just watch the Republican debates). Why should Democrats once again fall for the lure of ¡°bipartisanship¡± and ¡°cross-party unity,¡± given the utter lack of any evidence that Republicans will in fact cross the aisle. Wouldn¡¯t our interests be better served voting for a strongly progressive candidate who is dedicated to uniting the Democratic Party into a cohesive block, and who is willing to aggressively push through progressive legislation in much the same way Republicans have pushed their ¡°conservative¡± agenda? With the looming crises of global warming, economic inequality, and failed healthcare, do we really have the time to wait around and see if bipartisanship works? Do we really have time to nominate a candidate preaching that agenda?
