At the DNC fall meeting today, Barack Obama showed us why he’s the leader who can bring fundamental change — change we can believe in — to Washington:
“What I am hearing from women across the country is that they are looking for a leader who will put them first, who will remember that balancing work and family is a challenge for millions. When our leaders forget that fact we lose focus on what is important. The values I learned as the son of a single mother, as the grandson of a strong Midwestern woman and from my wife and two daughters are a not only a part of who I am, but a part of what keeps me fighting for change in this country.”
"With good judgment, little else matters. On Tuesday, I posted showing off the campaign’s comprehensive new Iowa Caucus Center. As Iowans, we have a unique opportunity to play a leading role in selecting the next President of the United States. We hold the first-in-the-nation nominating contest on Thursday, January 3rd, 2008, at 6:30 PM.
If you haven’t attended one before, a “caucus” is just a meeting in your neighborhood where you and your neighbors gather in a local public place like a school, courthouse, or community center to talk about who you think should be the next president. It usually lasts no more than an hour.
“As an elected official, community leader and a social activist, I did not hesitate to endorse Senator Barack Obama.”

Born in Puerto Rico, Carmen moved to the United States when she was a teenager. Now she’s 71, she lives in Manhattan, she loves Barack Obama, and she is one of the campaign’s most active volunteers in New York City.
This morning, surrounded by Obama volunteers and camera crews, Governor Tim Kaine made the big announcement: today Barack Obama would be the first Presidential candidate this election cycle to file for the Virginia state ballot.

Panel one: Renewing American Leadership
It’s clearer than ever that of all the candidates, Barack Obama will most effectively change the way America is seen in the world — not only by fundamentally changing our policy abroad, but by restoring our cherished principles here at home.
