Road Blog: Day in Pictures and Video in Wisconsin

One of the points Barack Obama always makes when on the trail is that is possible to disagree without being disagreeable. Today he put that maxim into practice, explaining carefully the definitions of grilling at a BBQ.
“It’s just that at a barbecue you have to cook barbecue,” Barack said to 300 undecided voters at the gun and rod park in Eau Claire. “If you’ve got burgers and stuff, then you’re having a cook-out.” He went on to explain that if you were having brats, you may find yourself at a brat-fest.
Then Barack got down to the brass tacks, explaining the challenges the economy is currently facing and how he is better prepared to face them than his opponent John McCain. As introducer Sen. Russ Feingold said at the event alongside Wisconsin Governnor Jim Doyle, the choice in this election is, “Which person will move this country in the right direction?" That person is Barack Obama.
Earlier in the morning Barack visited the First Lutheran Church of Eau Claire, enjoying services and a sermon by Pastor John Kerr entitled “The First Day of School.” The message encapsulated all the nervousness of that event and used it as an analogy for other aspects of life.
In addition, two youngsters were baptised at First Lutheran this morning, Gunnar Clark and Gavin Richel.
