Road to Denver: Howard from New York
June 24, 2008
Howard is a Democratic activist from New York. He saw his first convention on a brand new television in 1948. Ever since, he’s been a “political junkie.” And this time around, he decided he wanted to be a participant.
As a volunteer he went to Iowa, and has a “special pride, having been there when idea of President Obama seemed farfetched.” And along with his own state’s election, he traveled to Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Howard describes his most memorable primary moment in simple words: “meeting Barack.”

Last week, Howard attended a statewide delegates meeting and met other New York delegates.
And he’s all prepared for this August: ticket purchased, hotel room applied for, and he’s even going to buy a new suit for Barack’s acceptance speech.
