Jennifer جينيفر , a grad student at Virginia Tech, made herself a promise this past January: If Obama were to win the nomination, then she would do everything she could to help him get elected as President. ، أ غراد طالب في فيرجينيا التقنيه ، وتقدم نفسها وعدا كانون الثاني / يناير الماضي : اذا كان اوباما لكسب ترشيح ، ثم قالت انها ستفعل كل ما تستطيع لمساعدته على الحصول على انتخاب الرئيس. And this summer she is keeping that promise. وهذا الصيف وهي حفظ هذا الوعد.

In February I joined the Students For Obama Virginia Tech Chapter and we did absentee voter registration drives for the primary. في شباط / فبراير انضممت للطلاب اوباما فيرجينيا التقنيه والفصل ونحن لم يدفع تسجيل الناخبين الغائبين لالابتدائي. It was a great success and I was inspired to do more. وكان نجاحا كبيرا ، وكان الهم الاول لبذل المزيد.

I remember watching this video that was on the Obama website about youth and how their votes helped him win in Iowa and other states. واذكر ان مشاهدة شريط الفيديو هذا على اوباما في موقع عن الشباب وكيفية تصويتهم ساعدوه في الفوز في ولاية ايوا ودول اخرى. Considering the percentage of young people who voted for Obama, I figured it would be a great idea to go where the youth are. النظر في النسبه المءويه للشباب من صوتوا لصالح اوباما ، ظهرت لي انه سيكون من فكرة عظيمة لنذهب الى حيث الشباب.

I graduated from high school in Virginia Beach and I remember how they set up their graduation practices all in the same place. تخرجت من المدرسة الثانويه في فرجينيا بيتش واتذكر كيف اقاموا تخرجهم جميع الممارسات في نفس المكان. I also knew that Virginia Beach went Republican in the last presidential election and I decided that needed to change. كما أنني على علم بأن فرجينيا بيتش ذهب الجمهوري في الانتخابات الرءاسيه الاخيرة قررت انا والتي تحتاج الى تغيير.

About two weeks ago, I called the school activities coordinator and they agreed that I could set up a Get Out The Vote drive at the practices. قبل نحو اسبوعين ، الاول يسمى منسق الانشطه المدرسية واتفقوا على انني استطيع ان أعبر عن انشاء الخروج للتصويت في حملة الممارسات. Next I set up the event on the website, and in less than a week, more then 30 people signed up to help over the course of two days. الاول المقبل اقامة هذا الحدث على الموقع ، وفي اقل من اسبوع ، اكثر من 30 شخصا وقعت للمساعدة على مدار يومين.

Together we set up tables where the students would be entering and exiting their graduation practices so we could be sure to get as many graduating seniors as possible. ونحن معا انشاء جداول الطلاب حيث سيكون الدخول والخروج من تخرجهم الممارسات يمكن ان يكون ذلك ونحن على ثقة من الحصول على اكبر عدد ممكن من الخريجين الكبار. I believe they say ‘if you build it, they will come.’ We also went through the crowds with clipboards. واعتقد يقولون 'اذا كنت بنائه ، وسوف يأتي.' نحن ايضا من خلال الحشود التي ذهبت مع لوحات الاعلانات.

Many students were very anxious to register and they would take it upon themselves to yell out “Obama!” or excitedly tell us that they were going to vote for Obama. الكثير من الطلاب وكانت حريصة جدا على التسجيل وانها سوف تأخذ على عاتقها يصيح "اوباما"! او باثارة تقول لنا انها في طريقها الى التصويت لصالح اوباما.

During the graduation practice of one school, some graduating seniors took it upon themselves to get out the word and they encouraged large numbers of their friends to register. أثناء التخرج من مدرسة واحدة الممارسه ، تخرج بعض كبار السن اخذت على عاتقها الخروج من كلمة وشجعوا اعدادا كبيرة من اصدقائهم للتسجيل. It was exciting to see all the graduating seniors registering to vote and I know all the volunteers were very pleased – we knew it was time well spent. لقد كان من المثير ان نرى جميع الخريجين تسجيل الكبار في التصويت وانا اعرف جميع المتطوعين كان من دواعي سرورنا -- كنا نعرف ان الوقت قد حان انفاق.

After two days of graduation practices, we [registered] 561 new voters! بعد يومين من الممارسات التخرج ، ونحن [المسجله] 561 ناخب جديد! It is safe to say that all the volunteers, and many graduating seniors, from Virginia Beach are Fired Up and Ready To Go. من الممكن القول ان جميع المتطوعين ، والعديد من كبار السن بعد خروجها ، من هي فرجينيا بيتش واطلق على استعداد للعودة.

Voter registration events are going on all across the country this summer. تسجيل الناخبين الاحداث الجاريه في كل انحاء البلاد هذا الصيف. Find one in your city العثور على واحد في مدينتك or او create your own قم بإنشاء - like Jennifer - to be a part of the movement for change. -- مثل جنيفر -- ان تكون جزءا من الحركة من اجل التغيير.
