As we begin Gay Pride Month, I join the LGBT community in celebrating an historic year in which our country continues to make progress towards the fair and equal treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.   Still, we have so much work to do.  I look forward to working with the LGBT community to make sure that all Americans in committed relationships have equal benefits and that nothing stands in the way of loving couples who want to adopt children in need.  We need to expand our federal hate crimes legislation and pass a fully-inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act.  And finally, we need to put an end to the failed policy of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  Courage, honor, patriotism and sacrifice – the traits that define our men and women in uniform – have nothing to do with sexual orientation. 게이 프라이드를 시작으로 우리 달, 나는 성적 소수자 커뮤니티에 참여 년의 역사를 축하하는 우리 나라가 계속 진전을 향해 치료에 공정하고 동등한 여성 동성 애자, 게이, 양성 및 트랜스 젠더 미국인합니다. 그래도, 우리가해야 할 일이이 너무 많아요 합니다. 기대하고 사회에 성적 소수자들과 함께 일하는 모든 미국인의 책임감있는 관계를 확인하는 것이 아무것도 스탠드에서 동등한 혜택과 커플을 사랑하는 방법이 필요한 아이를 입양하는 사람을 필요로합니다.가 필요 법제를 확장할 연방 정부 증오 범죄 -이 포함된 완전 고용 아닌 - 차별을 전달하는 행위. 그리고 마지막으로, 우리가 필요가 실패한 정책에 종지부를 묻지 마라, 말하지 마. 용기, 명예, 애국심과 희생 - 그 특성을 정의하는 우리의 남성과 여성의 통일 - 성적 취향과는 아무 상관 없어.
