Do I Really Expect to be President?

This is NOT Politics as Usual
Greetings,
Thank you for coming to our website. That’s a great start, and I thank you for your interest. If you’ll lend me your ear for a minute or two, I’d like to outline for you what Reset America and Jingozian for President are all about. In subsequent blogs, I’ll weigh in on specific questions and issues as they arise over the course of the campaign, but I think it’s important to first lay out the big picture as I see it.
Before we get started in earnest, though, we need to get something out of the way: As this is not “Politics as Usual,” I’m going to speak to you in a way that you’re probably not used to. I’m not going to mince words, beat about the bush, tap dance or otherwise try to euphemize what I see as the state of our country. Some of what I have to say will undoubtedly be unsettling. Mind you, I’d love to offer you a Jeffersonian rhapsody replete with big words, big ideas and philosophical musings. But let’s face it: We’re looking at problems the founding fathers could never have imagined. We’re very much under the gun, and time is of the essence.
There’s No Denying…
The one thing ALL politicians agree on is that our nation is beset by a multitude of converging threats (except Mitt Romney, Mr. Optimist, who is either in denial or ignorant regarding the current threats facing our nation.) What you won’t hear from most of them, however, is that many of these threats are home-grown—products of our current 2-party system. That’s right: The system that claims to protect your Freedom and Liberties is the very thing that jeopardizes them—in very palpable ways.
The Quite simply, most politicians, the ones who get the most exposure, anyway, are loathe to point out the internal threats to our way of life because they’re firmly entrenched in the 2-party system. The way things work now, the status quo is king, and it’s ludicrous to think there’s a chance that the Democrats and Republicans can even begin to promote change.
Luckily, there are a few solutions left that can truly solve our greatest challenges. Some of these would cost little—or nothing at all—to implement. Unfortunately, the longer we wait to implement these solutions, the worse things get, our window of opportunity for real change gets smaller and smaller, and the answers to our problems are quickly becoming outdated. In the meantime, our elected “leaders” are doing NOTHING but preparing for the next election. The only word to describe the actions of those in government today is “Treasonous.”
The way I see it, we’re passing such a mess on to our kids as is it, let’s at least TRY to take back our government. Our basic freedoms and way of life are at stake.

Do I Really Expect to Be Elected President?
This is the title of the blog, so I guess I’d better address it. The short answer? No.
However, we believe that we can win 5-7% of the popular vote and win the delegates from the State of Oregon (and perhaps Alaska as well). As you’ll see, the Jingozian for President Campaign with the RESET America Plan is not your typical 3rd party campaign.
Why this is Viable?
There are many factors that have come together to make our success possible.
First, people are MAD. They’re speaking out by writing blogs and editorials, calling into talk radio programs, demonstrating and organizing meet-up groups. They’re waiting for a message that unifies all disenchanted people towards a common cause. In my opinion, there is more discontent with government now than in any other time in history—except perhaps during the first revolution. Despite what you hear from politicians and the media, families are panicking and people are furious.
What people really want is a credible path to change. RESET America offers a specific plan to execute a lawful and peaceful revolution before valid solutions disappear forever. Consider some of the facts:
- 70% of the population lives paycheck to paycheck.
- Our population is aging quickly.
- Immigration is out of control causing crime, disease and breaking state budgets.
- Saving is more difficult than ever, and young people don’t expect to collect Social Security.
- Credit card bills and home equity loans are out of control.
- Costs for energy, healthcare, food and other essential commodities are soaring.
- Disposable income is becoming a thing of the past.
- Our health is deteriorating causing the next generation to be the first in recent history to have a shorter life expectancy (and standard of living) than the previous generation.
- Anxiety, depression and the use of drugs (legal or not) to deal with these issues are rising at an alarming rate.
It’s not that people don’t care about government. It’s simply that we’ve been convinced there’s no alternative. We vote for ‘Democrats’ and ‘Republicans’ because we think we are not empowered. I call this Story Pollution, and I talk about it in this blog. (This is also the Introduction to my book on Holistic Management).
Acknowledging the Real Problem
While politicians, the media and lobbyists are certainly symptomatic of our countries woes, the real problem is that people think they care but no one else does. And that is simply not true. We believe that once we release our message to the public in March, most Americans will withdraw their support for the Democrats and Republicans and support a movement for real change.

Americans Already Know the Truth about the 2-Party System
The failure of our 2-party system is no surprise to most Americans. We realize that it’s the reason our elected “leaders” are afraid and reluctant to address our greatest challenges. RESET America seeks to educate people about three realities:
1. There are viable solutions that exist in dealing with many of our challenges so long as we act now.
2. Politicians do not have the ability or desire to change the status quo.
3. We, the American People, are indeed empowered to make change and save our republic from the effects of our destructive 2-party system.
Solid Campaign Infrastructure
We’ve built a solid organization, including a fantastic staff and group of volunteers. Just like the “big” campaigns, we utilize the Cision PR database, customized campaign database software, apparel, signage, literature, position statements and an extensive photo and media library. Plus, as you know, we have a highly engaging website that rivals those of the leading Democrat and Republican Candidates.
Furthermore, we have unmatched experience in video and multimedia production. Our campaign utilizes the most advanced video production and editing tools available. We can respond live from our office via the Internet to hot-button issues in the media. We plan to use this knowledge to produce powerful messaging that will inspire people to take action.
This Message Will Spread by Itself
We plan to launch our full-scale message in March. When people see it, they will be inspired to pass it on to their friends. People want change – but don’t have any options. Our campaign is truly the only viable alternative to the Democrat and Republican candidates. By not relying on television advertising, we don’t require much financing to succeed in our goals. (However, if you ARE in a position to contribute, then I kindly ask for your consideration by donating to our movement and campaign).
This movement will work because it’s something that people know is important. People are not as lazy as the politicians and media make them out to be. Once they hear this message and realize that they are empowered, this movement will take over by itself.
Uniting All Independents Around Our Common Goals First
This message transcends politics. It transcends Liberals, Conservatives, Democrats, and Republicans. It appeals to Americans, from liberal to middle-of-the-road to conservative, who want to share in a true democracy, to see more individual liberty and personal responsibility in government.
We plan to enroll ALL Americans who feel betrayed by the Democrats and Republicans. Although I am a Libertarian and believe in Libertarian policies, our specific agenda for 2008 appeals to all Independents, not just Libertarians. By focusing on our shared goals first (including increasing Ballot Access), we can use our momentum to attract legitimate Libertarian candidates for the House and Senate for 2010 and 2012.
We need to take one step at a time. This is why RESET America is a 5 Year Plan.
We MUST unite all engaged citizens around our common goals first, then once influence in Congress is established, we can pursue the rest of the items on our agenda.

This will not be a traditionally run campaign. We have planned an extensive media and PR campaign. Throughout the year, we plan to roll-out as many as 30 unique programs to spread our message. This includes a national campus college tour, partnerships, endorsements and special activities that will engage and enroll voters. (If you are a potential large donor and want to see what we have up our sleeves, we’d be happy to share with you details on how your contribution would be spent).
RESET America is a new and exciting message. Since we know how to develop effective messaging and how to spread our messages through the Internet with state of the art technology, we’ll grab the public’s interest and bring them into the RESET America fold.
Early Campaign Process
The 2-parties and their candidates have never started campaigning so early before. This will change the dynamics of this election. By the summer of 2008, the networks will be looking for news, and people’s interest in these candidates will have peaked. This sentiment has also been confirmed by others in politics, and leaves space for a (fresh, yet a bit unorthodox) new candidate to gain national recognition.
The Numbers are Achievable
If we get 20 percent of new voters, and 25 percent of those who vote Democrat and Republican, then we can actually WIN this election. These numbers are very realistic to at least achieve out basic goal of capturing 5-7% of the popular vote.
This Needs to Happen Now
Finally, this will work because it MUST work. Every day, we are losing our basic freedoms and democracy. We are jeopardizing the way of life for our generation and countless others if we choose to do nothing.

This movement is for YOU and about YOU. Despite what the media and politicians want you to believe, you are empowered. The difference between a future of FREEDOM and a future of DESPAIR is up to YOU.
There are many ways that you can help us spread our message of Freedom and Liberty. Financial contributions are certainly needed. However, your time is even more valuable. The most important contribution you can make RIGHT NOW is to tell others about RESET America. Call, email, write, or yell as loud as you can in a westerly direction (unless you are on the West coast, in which case, yell East).
