Watch PBS's Jim Lehrer's "By the People"

This was a great show. It discussed the principles of government by the people is for the people. It interviewed citizens all across the US. It talked about the responbilities of being a US citizen is not just to vote but to be engaged in the political process. Apathy is extremely dangerous. It strongly suggested that the more Americans become involved, there then would be less room for “special interests groups” to step in and intervene. They also did mock presentations in colonial Williamsburg with a truly diverse group of citizens.
