Liveblog from the Kodak Theater: California is FIRED UP

January 31, 2008

The crowds are huge, and the pictures speak for themselves: this campaign has built a solid grassroots organization able to mobilize their friends and neighbors to take action for a common cause.  It’s this kind of ability that has prevailed in the past and will help push Senator Obama to victory on Tuesday.

There are hundreds of supporters here, on every balcony, in every corner, and right in front of the cameras.

From the Kodak Theater: Early birds…

Sometimes waking up at 5:00 am has its advantages.  There’s plenty of time to get the day’s business taken care of.  Today’s business: real estate.  These supporters grabbed up space in front of CNN’s main stage as soon as we arrived.

Here’s the flickr page for the photos being taken today.

More pictures and coverage to come.

This Campaign is Yours

January 31, 2008

The online Obama community is like no other — vibrant, democratic and seriously creative:

This isn’t just a poster.  This is the poster you make it — by clicking here, you can go to the creator’s website and create your own version of this Obama poster.  Check it out — we chose "HOPE" but in the Obama spirit, this poster is all about you.  Choose whatever tagline you like.

Along those lines, here’s another site that let’s you give a voice and a video to your reasons for supporting Barack Obama:

You can upload a video you’ve made explaining why you like Barack — or vote for your favorite of the videos already posted on YouBama — and instantly become a part of the citizen-generated video campaign that’s letting the country know in personal terms exactly why Barack Obama should be the next President of the United States.

This movement really is like no other.
